The Marigold League is the current government at the helm of Heliopolis, the most populated metropolis in Tuzbair. It governs through the League Assembly, a semi-representative, semi-democratic council composed of wealthy landowners, distinguished military officers and business magnates. The Marigold League yields the largest and most populated economic apparatus in Tuzbair and has constructed some of the most impressive public works projects in the region, although its bureaucratic and corrupt inner workings have severely tempered its imperial ambitions.
The League Assembly, a council of thirty members. While there are no "parties", most members align themselves with one of the three major "blocs" - merchant, military, civic. The merchant and military blocs tend to view each other more favorably and are more pro-establishment, while the civic bloc is seen as more rogue and populist.
Leader: By law, the Overseer is the head of state and supreme executive authority of the Marigold League. The overseer holds power indefinitely until a new vote is called by the assembly. In practice, the overseer position is largely symbolic.
Enforcement: Tax inspectors, safety regulators and roaming army patrols ensure compliance with the law and the tax code. Nevertheless, law enforcement is usually not strict and many members of the army can be bought out.
Enlistment in the Marigold Army guarantees employment, housing, and a nominal stipend (pay changes with skill/role). Marigold Army leases out workers, engineers, and scientists to firms.
Certain combat units within the Marigold Army can suffer from low cohesion due to the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural nature of the Army.
Well-equipped, with self-produced equipment and vehicles. Large reserve of armored land vehicles, with two aerial light cruisers.
As a primarily mercantile entity, the Marigold League is incredibly opportunistic and is happy to participate in any pro-economic activities, and is diplomatically available. It has thus been very respectful of its neighbors and its trade deals.
